Entree

Entree is a unique Italian BYOB Bistro in Philadelphia. The food is more Northern Italian style so if you are looking for red sauce and pasta this should not be your destination. I visited Entree on a Tuesday night with a friend and it was very busy. The space is small and you can see right into the kitchen from any seat in the house. The decor is very modern, but at the same time maintains a rustic look because of the brick walls. Entree has a terrific ambience if you don’t mind a restaurant to be a little loud. By the way there is nothing better about the Philadelphia restaurant scene than all of the BYOB’s, it allows for anybody to open a restaurant without having to invest so much for a liquor license, because of this it raises the competition among restaurants and challenges each chef and restaurant to always be exceptional. I cannot wait to comeback and visit this spot in warmer tempatures and they open their large windows where I will be able to enjoy the beautiful weather while people watching on south street.

Entree

I brought a bottle of red wine for dinner, whatever your drink of choice is will work great at Entree. I started off with the fried calamari tossed with peppadews and a balsamic vingarette reduction with a side of Sriracha aioli. This was hands down the best fried calamari I ever had, it was perfectly fried so that there was a crunchy breading that was not too greasy, while the peppadew and balsamic vingarette added a sweet refreshing pop to the calamari and if you like spicy the Srirachi aioli really adds a perfect kick to the end of this flavorful dish. My friend ordered the wedge salad that included grapes, cherry tomatoes, glazed walnuts, crispy prosciutto and Gorgonzola dressing. As a person who normally does not like Gorgonzola dressing, I can tell you this was really a delicious dish. The refreshing wedge of lettuce with sweet grapes and the salty prosciutto made this salad a perfect dish to start the night. This is one of those salads that you could eat as your main dish if it was bigger.

For the main I ordered the seared ducked breast with purple roasted potatoes, exotic mushrooms, red onion and a sun-dried cherry port demi. This dish was solid, but I would have liked for a little more of a sour taste from the sun-dried cherry port demi and for the duck to have been a little rarer, it was a little dry for my liking. On the other hand, my friend ordered the seared tuna dish that came with a potato-zucchini pancake, baby arugula, romesco and lemon butter, this was the best seared tuna dishes I had in a long time. The tuna was perfectly cooked and the potatoe-zucchini pancake was a great compliment to the freshness of the tuna. This is a must get if you decide to visit Entree.

For dessert  I ordered the Nutella cannoli and my friend ordered the limoncello marscapne cake, these were both good desserts, nothing special, but if I had it to over again I most likely would have just gone with a nice refreshing ice cream.

Entree is a great place for a fun causal time, whether it is a first date, a good time with friends or a night out of the house with your wife, Entree hits the spot.

Entree is located at 1608 South Street and is a 3.5 Tizzle destination.

Villa di Roma

Growing up in a large Italian-American family makes me really appreciate this restaurant. It is a family business and has been for years. Villa di Roma also makes me yearn for the times spent with my family of about 30 in a townhome getting together to eat Sunday dinner. Villa di Roma has a great mix of homemade Italian-American cooking and cozy upbeat atmosphere. I truly felt welcomed by the staff like I was coming into their home to eat. The decor reminds me of all of the Italian restaurants I remember going to as a kid in the 80’s and kind of makes you feel like Tony Soprano is having dinner at the table next to you.

I ordered up a glass of house red, you know when you are in an old school traditional restuarant, be it Italian, Portugese, Spanish, etc., when the house red gets poured out of a gallon jug. Some people look down upon this type of wine but I absolutely do not, it tastes great and is perfect for a large meal when you know you will be drinking a lot.

My problem when I come to a place like Villa di Roma is I always want to order everything, but I finally decided on the Veal Parmigiana with eggplant and my friend ordered the Lasangna. I have also had their meatballs before and they are one the closest tastes to my Mom’s meatballs I ever had in a restaurant, truly delicious, their sauce is also fantastic as you might expect. The Veal Parmigina with eggplant goes together perfectly. The crunch of the breaded veal is followed by a nice juicyiness from the eggplant. Villa di Roma has a very good sweet gravy that really gives this dish a great flavor. I ate the whole dish and felt like I needed to unbuckle my belt. The lasagna was also tasty, but I am a bigger fan of non-traditional style lasanga that adds some spice, for instance I usually make mine with hot italian sausage.

Villa di Roma is a great place to go if you are looking for a Sunday night family dinner spot. After this comfort meal and a few more glasses of red I decided it was almost about time to head home, I ordered a nip of Sambuca to end the night and took off.

This is a 4 Tizzle experience, if you are looking to visit this great place in the historic Italian Market, the address is 936 South 9th Street.

Eat, Drink and be Merry!!!!

Bru

There is nothing that reminds me more of March in the Northeast than having a snow day and going to a bar and watching golf. Hopefully this snowstorm was our last because I cannot wait for warm weather, but since the snow storm did give me a day off I decided to take advantage of it and head to one of my favorite hunker down bars, Bru. Bru’s atmosphere is top notch, the service and TV’s make it a location you can stay all day and not feel the need to jump to another spot.

Bru

I drank the Staropramen Premium Lager the whole time I was at Bru. This is a Czech Pilsner that really is one of my go to beers when I know I am going to be drinking for a long time. I started the day with the fried pickles, these are fried in a beer batter with Westphalian ham and served on top of a mayo relish. If you like beer food, this is for you, greasy, tangy, salty, crunchy.

After a few more steins, I ordered the bratwurst and a side of the kase spatzel. Bru’s bratwurst is a classic version of the German wurst, it has a crisp skin with a juicy flavor. I loaded mine up with some spicy brown mustard and sauerkraut, which in my opinion is the best way to eat a bratwurst, but to each his own. The kase spatzel is glorious, it kind of reminds me of a German version of poutine. The spatzel, mushroom, onion, kale combination is delicious by itself, but once the muenster is added it becomes absolutely decadent, it is a dish you can’t stop eating and once you have to because there is no more, you think about ordering more. I finished the snow day with a nip of their cinnamon whiskey and headed home.

Bru is a great place to watch a game and hang out with friends. This was a 3.5 Tizzle experience.

Rex 1516

I visited this joint on a Wednesday because I wanted to let all of you know about the great deal they have here on Tuesday and Wednesday’s. I have been to Rex’s many of times and my favorite dish they have is their brisket. Their brunch is also spectacular, as well as their Sunday night Baltimore special Pit beef sandwich with $2 Natty Boh’s, so pretty much anytime you visit Rex’s you will leave with a smile on your face. Their Tuesday and Wednesday special consists of the burger of the week which is created by a special guest chef, the majority of these special guest chefs come from other great restaurants around the city, a shot of Buffalo Trace bourbon and a pint of the Philadelphia Brewing Company’s Newbold IPA for $15.

I started the night with a glass of the Trilogy red wine and an order of the Escargot and Andouille Cornbread Stuffing. For those of you that have never had escargot I would describe it as a cross between the consistency of a mussel and the taste of a portabello mushroom. The Escargot at Rex’s is a delicious version. The butter and garlic infuses the snails with a rich flavor while the mix of cheeses melted on top adds a terrific savory finish to the dish. The Andouille Cornbread Stuffing is a very unique dish for this area of the country. The cornbread stuffing is perfectly cooked which leads to a moist finish while the addition of the andouille adds a flavorful kick.

The month of March happened to be when they decided to honor their staff by allowing them to design  a burger each week. The burger came with carmelized onions, chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomatoes and cheddar. I ordered it medium rare and as always it came out as I asked. The best thing about the burger specials at Rex 1516 is no matter what is on them they are always tasty because of the spectacular patty they use. The special was really good, it was cooked perfectly and the carmelized onions and fresh lettuce gave the burger a terrific taste.

Besides the fabulous atmosphere and tasty menu at Rex’s, there is one other reason to frequent this location and that is to end your night at one of the all-time Classic establishments in Philadelphia, Bob and Barbara’s or as I like to say Bob and Barbs. Bob and Barbs is the originator of the citywide special and a location I have been visiting since I started drinking, I must say, I don’t always remember leaving, but today I did, I ordered one special to end the night, the special is a PBR and a shot of Jim Beam for $3.50. This is a great nip to the end of the night, but it is also a great nip to start the night.

Rex 1516 is a 4 out of 5 Tizzle experience.

Lo Spiedo

Sports fans looking for a place to eat, drink or watch a game before any event down at the south philly complex this is your place. The Xfinity Center is fun if you are just looking to drink and watch games and don’t mind big loud crowds, but if you would like to try some truly magnificent food and be able to have a conversation with the people you are with, this is the destination for you.

Before we headed down to Lo Spiedo, we checked out Founding Fathers, which is a new local sports bar for me. While the TV’s could be better situated in this bar, it is a fun place to come and grab a bite, watch some games and drink some beers. I had a couple of the Ballast Point Pale Ale’s and a cup of the menudo soup that was on special. The beer was crisp and the menudo really surprised me, it was delicious and had a great kick at the end.

 founding fathers

At this point we decided to order up an uberx and head down to Lo Spiedo. I love the outside and inside decor of Lo Spiedo. It was a former gatehouse for the Navy Yard and the brick building really reminds you what the area was utilized for in the past.

 DSC08281-lo-spiedo-937x622

By the time we got there we had about an hour and a half before puck drop, we drank a few beers before ordering. I had the Victory Arso, which is the special beer Victory makes just for Vetri family restaurants. After a few, it was time to order, we got an order of the wings, creamed kale, Italian baked beans, the brisket, and the pork shoulder. Before the food came out I decided to switch over to some Bulleit Bourbon, because nothing goes better than some bourbon and BBQ.

The grilled chicken wings are a great dish. As a person who loves hot wings, I can easily say these are some of the best alternative recipes for wings I have ever tasted. They are seasoned with an assortment of Italian spices, so do not expect this to be your normal wing but the best flavor you will taste from these wings is the natural smoke taste you get from the oak fired grill.

The creamed kale and Italian baked beans were both solid sides but the winner was the polenta cornbread with meat drippings. The corn bread was sweet and not dry at all and when you  were able to fight off some of the other forks in the skillet to dip that corn bread in the salty meat drippings it was straight up addictive.

The brisket was a little disappointing, it had a nice char to it, but the inside was a little on the dry side for my liking. If I have one regret I would have ordered the spit-roasted octopus instead of the brisket, but there is always next time. The pork shoulder on the other hand was delectable, the mix of fat and meat was the perfect ratio. This is a dish that makes your mouthwater for more.

After we were done we headed to the game to see the Flyers beat the Rangers 4-2 and drink some some 24 oz Miller Lights.

Lo Spiedo is a great place for a causal meal before any game you plan on attending, you can sit at the bar or at a table upstairs.

If you like BBQ Lo Spiedo is a 4 Tizzle experience.

Demo Tapes (Chef Rob Marzinsky Special Dinner upstairs at Barbuzzo)

I was beyond hyped for this event, it was a late seating at 8:45 pm, but I did not care, the menu looked like a rainbow of flavors; salty, savory, sweet, fresh, rich it was all there. Unfortunately, the menu did not come together as I hoped and some of the dishes were just not executed precisely enough to be able to taste as well as they should have. With an event like this the Chef is usually swinging for the fences so it is usually a home run or a strike out.

Before the event I decided to meet up with some friends at Smiths, this is a great place for lunch, after work, or watching a game, or even a late night dance party (if you are into that sort of thing), whenever your are in Philadelphia. I ordered the Goose Island Honkers Ale, this has A refreshing crisp taste, and we also downed some shots of Crown Royal apple. When it was time for me to head to dinner I ordered an uberx and headed over.

The upstairs decor at Barbuzzo and the music picked for the event really made you want to be there, I knew it was going to be an entertaining night as soon as I entered. I was seated immediately and ordered the cocktail pairing that came with the dinner, but for the Intro courses I ordered a glass of Pinot Noir to sip on.

The Intro consisted of 4 small bites of different dishes. The Celery Root, Fried Oyster and “Lobster Roll” were all pretty bland, with the “Lobster Roll” basically tasting like coleslaw on a roll. The Parsnip dish had a fresh taste and was the best intro offered, it would have been nice to have a little more of the parsnip though to get the full experience.

Track 1 was the Pierogi which was a cool untraditional play on the classic French Onion Soup. This dish really came together well, the right ingredients were all there, the sweet carmelized onions with the doughy pierogie and the saltiness off the soy broth was a great mix, I just wish there would have been a little more of the melter skelter cheese because you could hardly taste it and it would have really added a nice finish to the dish.

Track 2 consisted of the Albacore Tuna and the Dayboat Scallops. The Scallops were good, but the dish would have tasted better without all of the extra ingredients. The sea urchin, celery root and jalapeño are such strong flavors and fought against each other in this dish. On the other hand, the Albacore Tuna was the best dish of the night, the salty creamy tonnato sauce went perfectly with the fresh taste of the tuna and the crunchiness from the broccoli and peanuts created a perfect texture combination with the tuna. This is a dish I would order anywhere at anytime. The drink pairing for this dish consisted of vermouth, courvoisier and Rosemary syrup, while it tasted ok, it had a very sweet flavor and overwhelmed the flavor of the dishes.

Track 3 is where I was expecting the crescendo of the night to be, suncokes on roe and fried chicken on biscuits these are a few of my favorite things, um I mean ingredients. Regrettably it just did not work for me. The Roasted Sunchokes, potatoes with trout roe was ok, but it basically tasted like mash potatoes with trout row in them. The Fried Buttermilk Chicken over liver mousse, pickled carrots, sesame with a buttermilk biscuit and jalapeño vingarette, has some potential but the fried chicken was not nearly crunchy nor salty enough for the rich flavor of the liver mousse and therefore made this dish the worst of the night for me. The drink pairing for these dishes was by far my favorite though, it consisted of A Scotch, Sherry, Cynar and Byrr mixture with a nice dry flavor that really complimented the dishes well.

Track 4 was the Golden Curry, this dish had shrimp, sweet potato, lemongrass cabbage and rice. While this dish was good, it did not work well on the menu because after the previous two dishes the last thing my stomach needed was a rich broth made of sweet potato, lemongrass and cream.  This dish also came with another very sweet drink that consisted of pisco, lemon, carrot, turmeric shrub, galliano, sparkling wine and peychaud again this was too sweet of drink for this dish in my opinion, but on the other hand I am not a fan of sweet drinks to begin with, so to each his own.

The Outro called a “Vietnamese coffee” did end the night on a high note. The dish was made of a bitter coffe custard with soy milk dulce de leche and rice pudding. This dessert was amazing, every ingredient worked together to make a delicious dish. The coffee custard was spectacular while the rice pudding had enough flavor to really add an extra accent to the coffee taste, so it didn’t just taste like coffee ice cream.

After the dinner, thanks to some of the free dancing I was showing off, the bartender sent me over a nice nip of champagne to finalize my night with. While the meal was not what I expected it would be, it was still a great night and a fun event. If you ever decide to attened a dinner like this make sure you have an open mind and understand that the chef is usually experimenting and every dish will not be perfect.

This event was a 3 Tizzle experience.

Palladino’s (East Passyunk Restaurant Week)

I am not usually a fan of restaurant weeks, because unless you are a big dessert fan the deals you get are not normally that terrific. If I do go to a restaurant week though, I usually try to go to a steakhouse, these are where you normally fine the best deals. That is why I decided on Palladino’s. The outside decor of this happening new restaurant on one of the best foodie streets in the world makes you feel like you have been transported to the 1970’s and are about to have dinner with Old Blue Eyes and Dino.

Palladino

Once inside I decided to sit at the bar, they have three TV’s, two of which are hooked up to a continuous play of Italian countryside locations (during the middle of winter in Philly, this really makes you dream of a vacation). I ordered a Peroni to start the night off, if you are in the mood for a light refreshing beer, this should be your choice. After a few of these and some perusing of the menu I had made my choices. For the appetizer I ordered the Caciocavallo Scaloppine, the entree I went with the $20 upgrade for the 16 ounce bone in KC strip steak and for dessert I ordered Luke’s Cannoli.

The Caciocavallo Scaloppine was a perfect way to start the meal. As soon as I took my first bite, I started to hear the Godfather’s wedding song, Luna Mezz ‘O Mare ,in my head and my mouth was where the wedding party was happening. The sharp Sicilian cow’s milk cheese mixes perfectly with the toasted garlic, mint and the licorice flavor that comes from the Sambuca (yes I know it’s anise) at the end. This was hands down my favorite dish of the night, I have also had the truffled grissini here in the past and I would recommend that as well, these are both must haves if you visit Palladino’s.

After the Caciocavallo Scaloppine, I decided it was time to switch to my beloved red wine, I decided on the Cabernet that Palladino’s was offering that night. Their wine list is quite good, even if it is a little expensive. Next out came the KC strip steak, it was cooked exactly how I asked, medium rare and was perfectly seasoned with Luke Palladino’s secret salt blend that really sets off a burst of flavor in your mouth when you sink your teeth into the mouthwatering steak.

Before the cannoli came out I ordered an espresso, which I find to be a great drink to pair with any Italian desserts. The Cannoli was solid, but nothing special as far as South Philly cannoli’s go.

I am not going to lie, I kind of rushed the dessert because I was so excited to get to the after dinner drinks. I started off with a couple glasses of the grappa. While many people’s tastes buds think grappa tastes like gasoline, mine enjoy the semi-sweet taste, as well as the after burn you feel as it goes down your throat on a cold winter night. Finally, it was time to get my final nip of the night, before I ordered an uberx and headed home, so I ordered up a Limoncello. Limoncello is a great digestiv that starts with a jolt of citrus flavor and ends with that warming fire feeling in your gullet.

Palladino’s restaurant week is a 3.5 Tizzle experience and I would imagine it would be even better during a normal dining experience.

Alla Spina (Sunday Brunch)

If you are looking for a causal atmosphere  with a unique menu to enjoy Sunday brunch Alla Spina is a great place to visit. This Italian Gastropub gives you an array of Italian inspired brunch options to choose from and the beer and wine lists are plentiful. I frequent this establishment mainly when I am in the mood for delicious cooking and there is only one sporting event on TV that I want to see, the lounge area is a perfect spot to relax on a sofa sit back order food and drinks and enjoy the game. The spring and summertime is even better because the large garage doors open up and allow you to breathe in the fresh air.

IMG_0709

I started the morning off with the chilled cafe corretto, this is a cold shaken espresso with grappa. For anybody who has ever had grappa and espresso separately, you may understand that this drink is like somebody waking you up in the morning by pouring a cold bucket of water over your head, but for some reason you like it. Plus, Alla Spina starts you off with an always welcomed present from the kitchen a glazed donut hole.

IMG_0706

From there my friend and I decided to split the chorizo and octopus baked eggs as an appetizer.  This was the perfect app to split, it was not too heavy that you were regretting ordering your next course and the sweetness of the carrots worked perfectly with the spicyness of the chorizo and freshness of the octopus. After the chilled cafe corretto I switched to the Vetri Family Exclusive, the Victory Arso, which is a tart wheat ale with fire roasted malts, as someone who normally does not like wheat ales this was delicious and very refreshing, I stuck with these the rest of my time there.

IMG_0710-2

For the entrees, I ordered the Polentu, which is boneless pork ribs with cheesy parmigiano polenta and fried eggs. To tell you the truth this dish is almost perfect, except I don’t feel the eggs are needed, I think they add them just because it’s brunch. The tenderness of the pork ribs allows them to melt in your mouth as you drool over the succulent sweet tomato based sauce they were braised in, while the creamy polenta is a great accompaniment making sure you don’t miss out on any of the extra sauce.

IMG_0711

My friend ordered the sweet onion frittata , this is a very light egg dish that is unexpectedly packed with flavor, from the sweet and pickled onions to the Gorgonzola, this dish really makes your tastebuds jump. We were too stuffed to order dessert and after the Flyers won, my friend decided to head home.

IMG_0712

I had a couple of friends in South Philly I decided to meet up with for a few nips before I headed home for the night, so I met up with them at Moonshine.  Moonshine is a great place for a South Philly Sunday, very causal bar with TV’s, good beer selection and some excellent moonshine. I drank Yards Brawler while I was here, along with some shots of Apple Pie moonshine that helped kept me running until I went home.

Alla Spina’s Sunday Brunch is a 4 out of 5 Tizzle experience.

Cheu Noodle Bar

Cheu has created an exciting concept with this joint, I would call it hipster/Asian fusion. This is a great place to come for a quick bite, it does get extremely crowded though so make sure you try to go at off-peak times unless you don’t mind waiting. I decided to make the trip to Cheu during the afternoon because I had a sore throat and to me this is the perfect sick day destination.

I drank the spicy bourbon cocktail the whole time I was at Cheu, I did this because I was sick, it does has a great selection of beers as well. The Spicy Bourbon is a mixture of 4 roses bourbon, ginger, green tea, cayenne, mint and lemon, this is basically the recipe that you would get if you asked your Italian, Asian, Irish grandmother from the south for a homemade remedy to cure a sore throat, not to mention it tastes delicious. To start the meal I ordered the BBQ pig tails, these are the perfect bar food, if you like wings and/or ribs you will love these. The BBQ sauce starts off with a sweet tang and ends with a nice spicy kick, the pig tails “chicken wing” texture allows you to enjoy the sauce thoroughly. The cauliflower kimchi that came with this dish was a nice ying to the yang of the spicy BBQ sauce.

IMG_0687-2

Next up I ordered the ginger beef dumplings in chili oil, these were solid, I really enjoyed the ginger taste, but there was not much of a beef flavor and I kind of regretted not ordering one of the buns available on the menu.

IMG_0688

Finally it came time to order a noodle dish. I have had the Short Rib Mazeman with tomatillo, green chili and soft egg before, this is a very good noodle dish, but I was more in the mood for a broth dish, I have also had the Brisket with matzo ball, kimchi and sesame chili broth, this is my favorite dish at Cheu, but I wanted to try something new so I decided to order the Miso Ramen, which comes with pork shoulder, egg, sea beans and black garlic. I like my ramen spicy so I added a lot of the chili oil to the dish but to each his own. The pork was a little bland and chewy for my taste but the broth was amazing, the combination of the miso ramen broth with the black garlic and the added chili oil was a blast of flavor in my mouth. It started out with a tasty salty garlicky flavor and ended with a spicy aftertaste. The best part of the broth was the texture though, when you mixed in the egg the broth ended up having a texture of a tomato basil soup. The broth went down my throat like a coating of deliciousness.

IMG_0689

After finishing my last nip of the Spicy Bourbon it was time to head home in the 2 degree weather, so I order a Lyft, paid my bill and headed home.

This is a 3.5 out of 5 Tizzle Destination and I highly recommend it for days that you feel sick.

Kensignton Quarters (The Goat Dinner)

IMG_0255

If you are an adventurous eater the private dinners at Kensington Quarters are the best deal in town. Not only do you get to try the different cuts of the animal cooked that night but you are able to see the various techniques the chef utilizes to put together a 5 course meal, not to mention each plate is paired with a glass of wine. Besides it’s fun to get the animal confused with another animal you usually eat like lamb which happened a couple of times during this meal.

The Goat Dinner started with a thinly smoked piece of goat leg garnished with some radishes and pickled jalapeños while spiced with charred garlic and chili pepper. After one taste of this starter I knew I made the right decision to attend this dinner. This dish could be served on the same plate as some of the best charcuterie boards in the country. The salty smoky taste of the thinly sliced goat leg with a delicious punch of heat at the end provided by the chili pepper, along with the fresh, vibrant tasting white wine pairing was a great start to the night.

FullSizeRender_3

The 2nd course was a bit of a let down after such a great start. The celery root added some crunch to the soup but not much taste while the slow roasted shoulder was a little chewy for my taste. I would have rather seen the shoulder prepared in a different way. Although the sweet white wine pairing did go well with rich broth.

IMG_0505-1

Fortunately the Chef made a huge comeback after the 2nd course and this is where the night truly started to become decadent. The 3rd course was the ultimate comfort food for a cold snowy night. The Cannelloni filled with tangy goat cheese and mouthwatering braised shank mixed perfectly with the intense flavor of the mushrooms. After I finished this meal in about one minute I looked around and the gentleman next to me had done the same, we looked at each other only wishing we could have another serving to enjoy. This also happened to be paired with my favorite type of wine, a Pinot Noir from Oregon, my favorite is Firesteed Pinot Noir, but really any Oregonian Pinot Noir will hit the spot with a comfort food.

IMG_0506

Up next came the main course, Grilled Goat Chop and Loin served over some sunchoke purée, pickled beets and grilled apple. This dish was cooked perfectly for such a lean meat, because of its leanness goat is hard not to overcook on the grill but the chef pulled it off. The chop and loin were both juicy while the sunchoke purée added a nice smooth texture without weighing the dish down like mash potatoes would. The Malbec pairing worked great here as well, all in all I was impressed throughout the night on how well they paired the food and wines.

IMG_0507

Last but not least came dessert the Goats Milk Panna Cotta was no let down, the tanginess from the goats milk blended perfectly with the cinnamon flavor and the texture of the fennel seed topped it off way better than a cherry could ever have imagined. I ordered and excellent espresso to eat with this dessert and then to end the night Kensington Quarters served us a nip of the chianti Malvasia which worked as a sweet finish to end the night.

cotta

This was a 4.5 Tizzle event, I recommend any adventurous eaters out there grab a spot to the next private dinner Kensington Quarters hold and hopefully I will be able too.
